SIMCom Wireless Solutions, the #1 market share volume leader of cellular modules in the world, announced during the Mobile World Congress Americasin San Francisco (#MWCA17) that it had obtained Verizon certification for its new low-power LTE Cat M1 solution- the SIM7000A.
The Verizon conditional certification means that IoT developers, entrepreneurs and customers can begin testing the SIM7000A on America's most reliable wireless LTE network leveraging low-cost Cat M1 modules to create new opportunities.
The SIM7000A is pin-to-pin compatible with earlier SIMCom products like the SIM900, SIM800F and even utilizes the same AT Commands. This compatibility and design continuity helps shorten development cycles, speed upa product launch and shorten overall time-to-market. The SIM7000A is based on Qualcomm’s multimode LTE CatM1/NB1/GSM MDM9206 platform leveraging multi-band LTE-FDD in the SMT form factor, and supports LTE Cat M1(eMTC) with data throughputs of up to 375Kbps. The SIM7000A allows great flexibility and ease of integration for the users’ application, providing strong capabilities and rich user interfaces such as UART, USB 2.0, ADC, I2C and GPIO. Packed with features, the SIM7000A includes GNSS functionality supporting a variety of GPS standards such as Glonass, BeiDou, Compas, Galileo and QZSS.
The SIMCom SIM7000A provides a unique combination of performance, security, flexibility and is an ideal solution for a variety of IoT and M2M verticals requiring longer battery life, lower cost, and mobility. Verticals such as smart home, smart city, smart energy, oil & gas, metering, asset tracking, fleet, BHPH, wireless POS, E-health, PERS, agriculture, telecom, security, parking meters and bike sharing are but a few.
